Aug. 9: “The Granville Farmers Market: History and Recollections”

On Thursday evening, August 9th, the Granville Historical Society in cooperation with the Granville Chamber of Commerce will present a program for the community in celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Granville Farmers Market.  The evening’s program will include reflections by members of the village who were instrumental in the formation of the market in 1993. Members of the farming community in Licking County who have participated as vendors, and the current Market Master will add their perspectives of the Market’s evolution through the years.

The remainder of the evening will be devoted to hearing residents relate their recollections of Market events, family memories of “market” Saturday mornings, and the building of community relationships provided by market activity.

“The Granville Farmers Market: History and Recollections” will take place in Auditorium 115 in the Burton Morgan Building on the Denison University campus. The program will begin at 7:00 with time after the formal program for informal discussion and light refreshments. Parking will be available in the parking garage under Slayter Hall with signs directing guests to the program venue in Burton Morgan Hall. The event is free and open to the public and is handicap accessible.
